I'm trying to find all the Mallory Towers books. Do any of you know all the titles in the series or where I could find them??
Thank you!!

Yup The O'Sullivan Twins.

There have been some other additions to this series (trying to write in the style of Blyton but not quite making it) that I read to my DD recently but IMHO they were not a patch on the originals.

QueenFee · 21/01/2009 00:00

I loved these and St Clares
Also the Chalet School - Anyone else read those?

treedelivery · 21/01/2009 00:03

Patricia and Isobel? The twins?

Have both the boxed sets, bought them from a book club for old times sake.

Never saw the appeal of pineapple chunks pressed into gingerbread or anchovy spread if anyone remembers their feasts...

Jacksmama · 21/01/2009 00:07

I remember those, no wonder they were all ill the next day!!

Getting up to eat cake in the middle of the night? They must have been the Nigella's of their day!

Oh I loved all those boarding school books! My DD 9 loves the naughtiest girl and has just read the first mallory towers. They have added a few modern touches though, the money has been updated from shillings! They read so quaint now, all that jolly good humour and decency, still fab though!

I also loved the Trebizon books, anyone read those?

Jacksmama · 21/01/2009 17:18

I think it's the decency and how they sort each other out that still appeal to me today...

I also read Malory Towers and St Clare's, but have to say that the Chalet School books were my favourite - by Elinor M Brent Dyer. Joey and her sister Madge wasn't it?

LisaLessLumpy · 21/01/2009 18:22

I read the Mallory Towers books as a girl too, I thought they were fabulous

CioccolataCalda · 21/01/2009 18:25

We have got Malory Towers and St Clares on tape and DDs and DSs love them so much they are nearly worn out. Years old.

Jacksmama · 21/01/2009 20:03

Ahhhh... picked up some of my German translations today and feel transported back to my early teen years

I saved both Malory Towers and St Clare's for my girls,DD2 reading them now, keeps coming out with Blyton-esque phrases that you never hear now!

pagwatch · 21/01/2009 20:11

I LOVED the Mallory Towers books

I described my sons behaviour as vile the other day and DH said " don't go all Darrell on me"

I am trying to read them to DD but she isn't really interested.

Tough

ladymariner · 21/01/2009 20:19

I too loved the Mallory Towers books, they were fab. Babysay my niece a few years ago and found hers and re-read them

I too wanted to be Alicia, mugglewump!!!

LIZS · 21/01/2009 20:22

I enjoyed the Trebizon books but the story never really concluded. Same author (Anne Digby) has contiued the Naughtiest Girl series ,which I'm a bit about especially as dd wants the new ones too.

treedelivery · 21/01/2009 23:03

I'd forgotten about Trebizon Towers!

OliviaMumsnet · 21/01/2009 23:04

Zerelda Brass was wunnerful

AmIOdetteOrOdileOrABagpipe · 21/01/2009 23:09

I only have DSs...would it be very tragic of me to order the complete set to reminisce, or should I just remember them with a fond glow?

treedelivery · 21/01/2009 23:15

I got the Malory Towers box set and had a total warm mushy trip down memory lane. Go for it.

epithet · 21/01/2009 23:17

Zerelda's sister solidgold would have been an interesting new pupil at Malory Towers.

Scarletibis · 24/01/2009 14:53

I loved Mallory Towers, St Clairs, Trebizon books and Chalet School . Was still reading Chalet School books well into my twenties

kiltycoldbum · 24/01/2009 14:57

omg i loved mallory towers and st claires, they were selling for loads on ebay when i looked (the originals i think) a while back however the new print ones were a couple of weeks ago in the sale at my local tk maxx for a couple of pounds!

alexpolismum · 04/02/2009 15:07

How nice to be reminded of the Chalet School. I used to have quite a collection of those books. These were my favourites, MUCH better than Mallory Towers IMO!

eloisetasty · 16/02/2009 23:31

And Claudine, Mamzelle's neice, the French girl who learned to have a sense of honour like the British girls

eloisetasty · 16/02/2009 23:35

Charity shops are best for the un-messed about versions BTW.
