Pre-school stories for craft activities

I run a toddler messy play group, where we provide three craft activities each week.

This term I have the bright idea that the activities for each week will be based around a children's story or book. I've got enough for the first eight weeks so far, but I need a few more. Any ideas?

I've got:

Very hungry caterpillar (caterpillar and butterfly collages)
Gruffalo (gruffalo mask, snake and owl collages)
Tiger who came to tea (tiger mask, cup cake decorating)
Cinderella (ballgown collage, clock, magic wand)
Golilocks
Jack and the Beanstalk
Gingerbread man
The Snail and the Whale

I'm sure there are loads but my mind's gone black and the girls are asleep in the room where the bookshelf is!

bear hunt? - bear mask, long grass collage, scary wood pic?

Great idea.

Will watch this one with interest.

The Rainbow Fish books can make lovely displays.

enormous turnip would be a good one i would say
i find playdough often works well after a story
you can suggest elements they might try to make

Great ideas. Can't believe I didn't think of rainbow fish - it's meant for collage!

And I can visualise a great enormous turnip picture.

Will have to work on DD2 if we do bear hunt. Last time I acted out the bear hunt story with the children I scared the living daylights out of her when I "found the bear"!

What about a Harry and the Bucketful of Dinousaurs book.
Play dough dinosaurs
Junk modelled dinosaurs (great with egg cartons)

Handa's Surprise - different fruits and animals as a craft theme.

Owl Babies - owl masks, feathers ( or paper cut into feather shapes ) for a collage, night time/nocturnal theme
