hi

Just noticed everyone talking about these books in other threads. Which out the series would be a good introduction for my dd(5)?

OP posts:

The first one is called Beezus and Ramona, and Ramona is about nursery age and it concentrates on the annoying things younger sister do. The next two are Ramona the Pest and Ramona the Brave, which follows her through Kindergarten and first grade. I have read all of these to my dd(5) who enjoyed them, have left the others until she is a bit older.

MrsNormanMaine · 20/11/2008 20:45

Just finished Ramona the Pest which DD (5) also likes. It was mine when I was little - thanks I will look for the others.

I have spare copies of beezus and ramona and ramona the brave that I picked up second hand, not realising that I already had them. You are welcome to them if you want them, I will just donate them to charity shop otherwise.

MrsNormanMaine · 20/11/2008 22:38

LostGirl - wow - thanks so much I'd love them. How do we arrange that?

MrsNormanMaine · 20/11/2008 22:39

OR maybe nwmum should have them - is that what you meant - sorry - didn't mean to bookjack.

LostGirl · 20/11/2008 22:41

They're there for whoever wants them. Have no idea how we go about getting in touch with each other though!

MrsNormanMaine · 20/11/2008 22:45

Email? I think there is a way to do that but gawd knows what it is. WIll consult the oracle.

Olihan · 20/11/2008 22:50

I LOVED these books as a child. Must dig them out of mum's loft for DD when she's older.

Easiest way to get in touch with each other is by CAT (via Contact Another Mumsnetter, right hand side of the blue bar at the top of the page) but it does require one of you to have suscribed (I think it's a fiver for a year) and the other to have their MN settings set to 'accept CATs'. MNHQ basically receives the message and forwards it to the other person.

Alternatively one of you could post your email address with gaps so it can't be fished.

MrsNormanMaine · 20/11/2008 22:59

Thanks Olihan -= I'll subscribe to the CAT thing.

LostGirl · 21/11/2008 04:55

I will try and work out how to 'accept CATs' . Computers not my strong point!

Olihan · 21/11/2008 14:16

Go to My Mumsnet at the top, oncve you've logged in go to email options on the top line

2nd option down is 'Accept C-A-T' or similar. Change it to 'Yes' then SAVE your changes.

Job done .

LostGirl · 21/11/2008 15:03

Cheers

I can recall a Ramona book where her dad loses his job and they are suddeenly quite poor - can't remember which one it was, but could be a useful read in these troubled times...
