DD1 starts school next month and she's just got into Charlie and Lola. I thought this might be good but I havent read it. Is it?

And if so, does anyone know the cheapest I can get it?

Try Amazon market place.

MrsBates · 11/08/2008 11:02

My daughter loves it.

ThatBigGermanPrison · 11/08/2008 11:02

Yes, it's lovely. but do be aware that it may introduce the idea that she will not have the wear a schooliform, as Lola doesn't, and actually most children do have to wear a schooliform.

EustaciaVye · 11/08/2008 11:03

GermanPrison - Is the uniform thing part of the story or just in the pictures?

It's part of the story....

My DS2 (who is also about to start school in September) having read said book, is spending much of his time telling me how he is' absolutely too small for school' - but once we have been through all the lola reasons (reading books to ogres, etc.) he is up for it again !

ThatBigGermanPrison · 11/08/2008 11:06

PART OF THE STORY.

oops

WideWebWitch · 11/08/2008 11:06

EustaciaVye · 11/08/2008 11:36

Thanks everyone. DD1 is quite looking forward to wearing her uniform and I dont want to put her off. Now I'm not sure!

Actually, I think I'll get it. She's old enough to know the different rules.

Thanks everyone. Now, where do I get it? Is amazon marketplace a bit like ebay?

I don't know about amazon marketplace but they have 20% off it here

lucymack · 11/08/2008 13:31

Meant to also say that this is one of the books my son's nursery chose to help with the transition to school.

EustaciaVye · 11/08/2008 13:54

Thanks lucymack

Wow, Thanks Madhouse. What are the other books on the list like? Good?

I've never heard of readit swapit but I've just checked out the website. I'm impressed.

We havent read them all yet, as some are a little advanced, but I figured they would be good for older birthdays.

Claire Bean ones are OK

janeite · 11/08/2008 20:26

All of the books on Madhouse's list are brilliant - and such a bargain.

EustaciaVye · 12/08/2008 19:48

I've ordered them. For bedtime, we just read Charlie & Lola - I will not go to bed, which I love
