My eight-year-old has a basic kids' atlas which includes maps of the whole world and of each continent, but doesn't include the name of every country, especially the smaller ones.
She'd really like one in which the political maps include every single country in the world and its capital (it's fine if the country name maps and capital maps are separate - I get that it's tricky to fit all the text in otherwise). She'd also like pictures of country flags. She's less bothered about maps displaying climates, time zones, population densities etc, although I think they're nice to have.
Does anyone know of any like this? Of the few I was able to look at in bookshops, one of Dorling Kindersley's seemed to come closest but was rather US-centric, with a world map that put the Americas in the centre and detailed informatics about a few US states rather than an even spread of countries from across the world.
