Roald Dahl - Minpins, Giraffe, Pelly and Me
Horrid Henry
DK non fiction series
Orhard books - several series of mths, legends and abridged shakespeare
Book people - they have a series for boys available this month

Depends on his reading age/interest level really.

Have a look on Booktrusted.org.uk

They have a section where you can search for recommended titles for age range/interest, etc.

My ds is reading Alex Ryder[teenage spy]By Anthony Horowitz. He loves 'em.

What has he enjoyed already? How good a reader is he?

Harry Potter and Alex Rider if a confident, quite mature reader
Horrid Henry if less so.
The DK non-fiction books and the Horrible Histories are also good.
