Anthropomorphic Teddy Bears...

Do anthropomorphic teddy bears really only work as early reader's, chapter books and picture books?

Is middle grades book writing possible?

Such as teddy bears who live in their own world and go on adventures?

My story just feels deeper and complex for a chapter book, but do not wanna write about a topic of no interest to say a 10-13 year old

My stories fit better in the 7-9 chapter book series ideas, but my stories are complex

Whats my solutions?

Thoughts?

Like warrior cats perhaps.

I can't imagine 10-13 year olds wanting to read about teddy bears in all honesty. ...

Could you take the character and plot ideas but transfer it to a species of animal (like the Warrior Cats idea mentioned above - or something like Watership Down, Animals of Farthing Wood, or the Duncton Wood chronicles etc etc).

Well the Threadbare series (Andrew Seiple) exists and Winnie the Pooh is for any age, so why not.

What do you mean by complex, an 8 year old is perfectly capable of understanding pretty complex stories.

🤦Ah I was hooked in until the repeated Ai response .

I'd possibly have enjoyed it at that sort of age but it would have to be very well written with an original storyline to be appealing.

I'd also encourage you to find a very good editor/publisher.

10-13 definitely too old for teddy bears. If it's a story only suitable for that age, why not make it a human character rather than a teddy bear?

But quite young children can get quite complex stories. Compare your ideas to e.g. Rupert the Bear stories, which are suitable for 7-10 year olds.

Hmm, AI has better grammar than that.

OP, you will need to have markedly better grammar to write a publishable book.
