I hate reading HH - it's like a tongue twister.

Thanks Cod and Enid, I wasn't aware of either of those series and think they will be ideal for my 6yo this summer.

Zac Powers - 7 year old really loves them. Dinosaur cove also very good. Waterstones was doing a buy one get one free a while back.

Jake Cake books also favs at mo.

My ds1 is just 5 and was bought a dinosaur cove book which I read to him, but sadly it isn't the first in the series so we are thinking of buying him some for Christmas.

Even though I read "complete with growl" I had forgotten I had turned volume up on my laptop for ds2 aged 2 to play "in the night garden" on cbeebies.

Growl scared the pants off me

mine likes whatever 10 year old likes. Hence garfield at Triskellion....

mine loved captain underpants .. you can't beat puerile humour imo

I loathe HH and packed away all the books some years ago. But at half term found myself attending a talk at Hay Festival by Francesca Simon, and she was surprisingly entertaining.
