Help me find an old book about stage school family

I’m hoping someone can help with locating a long ago loved book!
I read it in the 1990s, but think it was set in the 70s.
There are three children in some kind of theatre school, a girl who sings, a boy who drums and a younger girl who dances.
Their cousin is orphaned, and comes to love with them. At first she thinks they are all stuck up lovies, but eventually she starts designing theatre productions.

At one stage the girl and boy end up on TV as singers, which is why I think it must be set in the 70s.

There are so many stage school set books, that Google isn’t very helpful. Anyone remember this book or series of books?

Is it the Gemma books by Noel Streatfield? Her mother was an American actress and left her with her cousins in a town calle dHeadstone, where they had an orchestra.
I loved those books!
(Heads off to loft to find them...)

Gemma in Love I think was originally Gemma Alone.

Gemma isn't orphaned, merely abandoned by her rather flighty mum who is a film star because Gemma is getting the the awkward age where she's no longer cute and not getting roles, and she's got a big film coming up where having a child around isn't convenient.

I can't remember if the dad ever gets mentioned. Would do if it was on MN. "Why didn't you leave your poor teen with her df?"

Cousins are:
Ann (responsible one who is very shy but has a lovely singing voice)
Lydia (very like Posy Fossil, only a bit more selfish. Dances well and will do anything for her dancing. I have a feeling that, like Posy, at some point she tries to run off and audition for someone famous. Might even be a descendent of Manoff as NS reused him a bit)
Robin (very musical. He plays the piano and rewrites the songs for the group using a technique he called "swirling" I think)
I think the drummer is a friend of Robin's not a family member. Something like Nigs short for Nigel. I know it was a name that felt very old fashioned when i read it in the 80s.

@MargaretThursday (great name!) you are right I think about Gemma Alone. I'm probably misremembering the title. It's years since I've thought about them!

Amazing! I’d ruled out Noel Stretfield as not being modern enough, but it’s def those because I did remember the cousins names. I had the other girl as Joan not Gemma. I did also remember the swirling!

i told DH that mumsnet would find it in a single post!

Thanks so much
