that my DD1 (10) says Before Green Gables is brilliant. I advanced her three weeks' pocket money so she could buy it on Saturday and she finished it last night. Looking forward to reading it myself now.

anything to do with Anne of Green Gables?

RosaLuxembourg · 29/04/2008 11:31

Yes, should have explained It is the prequel, about Anne Shirley's early life, which has just been published to celebrate the 100th anniversary. DD1 says it is just as good as the real thing.

I spotted the book in Watertstone's recently and now dh wants it for his birthday or Xmas. He loves the AofGG books.

RosaLuxembourg · 29/04/2008 12:27

Good for him! They are top stuff. Has he read Emily of New Moon?

No - is that by the same author?

hana · 30/04/2008 15:18

yes it is

have seen this and just don't want it to spoil 'anne'

marina · 30/04/2008 15:18

Yes, Emily books are all by LM Montgomery

Who wrote BGG Rosa? Stuff dd, I'd like to read that!

RosaLuxembourg · 30/04/2008 19:47

Here you go Marina. I got about half-way through last night and am enjoying it immensely - it is hugely long at 600 pages. Very sad though as you might expect.

Thanks Rosa. It sounds as good as Peter Pan in Scarlet IYSWIM

Oooh yes, dd1 and dd2 have just read that and said it was excellent (peter pan one).

Have never introduced them to Anne of Green Gables - how remiss of me! Dd2 in particular would love them I think.
