Can you remember the name of this vampire book from the 80s?

I remember reading a black covered book in primary school in the 80s.

I have been searching for it everywhere but can't remember the name of it.

All I remember is it had a black cover, and the storyline was about a vampire who collected people's souls in vials around his neck.

It's been bugging me for ages.
