DS is loving learning to read with Meg and Mog by Helen Nicoll. Any other suggestions for book series with very simple text that he could read?

Not quite as simple as Meg and Mog, but my DS found the Oi Frog and Friends series quite easy to read, and also the Poppy and Sam farmyard tales books.

Thanks!

Bunny and Bee are great beginner books. Start with Noisy Night.

"Here is a house, a house in a tree
The house is the home of Bunny and Bee"

Pip and Posy books are quite simple. I bought the set to read to my daughter but once she was reading books on about the light blue book band (most reading schemes are banded from pink, to red, to yellow, to light blue and then continue) she could read Pip and Posy herself.

Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel.
Very gentle friendship stories.

Spot the dog books are good

Biff chip and kipper the magic key. They are great and as they get better at reading they can go up a level. They get to know the Characters and the stories are great all mine loved them.

Winnie the witch (the picture book ones, longer readers also available) were much loved here.

DS loves the Maisy mouse series. By middle of reception he was reading them fluently.
