Can anyone recommend a basic book about growing up (don't really need the sex bit yet - just changing bodies) for my 8 year old daughter who is clearly changing and who also absolutely hates blood - so it needs to be gentle...

thanks

Have read this book, Growing Up: It's a Girl Thing by Mavis Jukes, with both my DD's, starting when they were at primary. Bought it from Amazon. It's written like a mum telling her DD about it all, has all the things you need to remember. We used to read a chapter together each night. Was mainly about puberty, with a little bit about keeping safe.

There ia a great babette Cole book called 'Hair in Funny Places' which has great illustrations , tells them what they need to know - no sex ! I also have 'Girls Only ' can't remember author - bright pink cover - try browsing Amazon - I find the reviews quite useful

We have Girls Only. DD1 (10) hasn't read it AFAIK, but she knows it is on the bookshelf if she wants it. But she is still in denial about the whole process and practically puts her fingers in her ears and goes - LaLaLa I can't hear you if you try to bring it up.
