Weekly comic/mag for 11/12 yr old girls - suggestions please!

I have a subscription for The Phoenix which DNiece (11) and DNephew (10) originally shared, but as time has gone on DNiece reads it less and less frequently. (DNephew still waits by the letterbox for it every week, mind you!)

DNiece has just finished primary and I would like to find a comic or magazine subscription for her that will give her something to look forward to in the post each week. She's not into fashion, doesn't do any social media, isn't much into music/pop stars etc, and so I don't want anything that focuses on those sorts of areas. She loves drawing her own characters and figures, and reading mystery novels and authors like Katya Balen. She recently read A Good Girl's Guide to Murder and loved that, and she has enjoyed some graphic novels. Equally, she looks forward to Disney releases and the like, and will still watch Bluey with her brother and parents!

Maybe there's nothing out there between younger children's comics like I used to buy her in the supermarket when she was small, and teen magazines, but if anyone knows of anything that might appeal to her I would be really grateful for your suggestions.

Art, Draw and Create is a good magazine for arty kids but it’s monthly.

Aquila looks good, or Oyla (science-focused).

DS13 is still happy to read the Phoenix every week, and sometimes / usually reads The Week Junior (not sure how long that will last TBH). We had Oyla for a year, but he tailed off a bit with that.

Thanks for your replies everyone!

@SomethingHasTo they get the Week Junior, I had forgotten to mention that, and she still loves it. But yep, that's likely to change at some point.

Art, Draw and Create I haven't heard of before @Forgottenmyphone so I'm going to check that out. If it grabs her (and the title suggests it really might!) it won't matter much that it's monthly, particularly while she still enjoys Week Junior.

Aquila sounds intriguing @GreatDarkWing so I'll have a look. And she absolutely loves maths but doesn't seem as keen on science per se, unless it's biology - if there's quite a focus on biology in Oyla that would potentially be great, but I'll go and have a look.

I think Oyla has a sample issue available online from memory. It's probably a mix of all the sciences though.

Art, Draw and Create is quite pricey but we think it’s worth it as you get lots of stationery with the magazine and it’s way more than just reading - the art activities that it has inspired my dd to do last nearly all month!

My almost 11 year old love First News don't know if that might be an option.

Happy to cover postage to post a couple of recent issues of The Week Junior to someone if they'd like to try it out.
