Summer holiday book ideas

I am looking for summer holiday books (shortish novels) for an 8 year old. They have the Enid Blyton Summer Stories collection and the Jacqueline Wilson summer collection but maybe something a bit more modern.
Any ideas welcome

What do they like at the moment? My DD has just read Harry Potter series and has moved on the North Lights. She also like the Nothing to see here hotel series and 13 Treehouse series.

They're not that great with long novels (reading level is good but have ADHD and don't have the concentration). Looking for books that have summer themes.

Treasure Hunters series by James Patterson. Similar to Blyton in that kids go off to solve mysteries but overseas.
