Science fiction for 9 yo boy

He just told me this morning that he likes science fiction and wants to read more. However, he isn't sure which genre under the scifi umbrella he likes yet. I told him I would ask on here for recommendations so he can try some. Any ideas?

Does he like space? The George series by Lucy Hawkin are very good.

It's more fantasy, but 11yo ds is currently loving the Discworld series.

Might be a bit old for him (9-12 range, probably older end), but Alastair Chisholm has done some good ones - Orion Lost, Adam-2, Consequence Girl.

Thank you! I will have a look at all of those. I had been thinking about Terry Pratchett but I think he's not quite there yet. Soon though.
