Stories for pre-schoolers on the internet so I can print them off and take them on the plane without taking whole books?

I'm looking for a text version of typical childhood stories like little red riding hood, so I can read ds stories on a long plane flight without taking 5 or 6 different books!

He is quite happy to sit and listen to a medium length story without pictures and I just don't have room in our hand luggage for loads of books.

Is there anywhere on the net that has this sort of thing so I can print several stories on just a few sheets of paper?

Hi there! I did a quick search using 'childrens stories to print off' and found the following on the web:

www.footprintpublishing.co.uk/storiesforboys.html

www.toys-to-you.co.uk/acatalog/freechil drensstories1.html

www.fables.co.uk/stories.htm

www.antbee.com/

Maybe these will help.

Thanks - I did a Google search but my search term was less effective!

What a good idea

More desperation and panic Notnow- it's going to be a long flight so I've been thinking of any way possible to keep him amused!

Have also got verbal games to play - he's too young for Ispy but we can do a pretend voyage on a ship where he has to decide who can come with us and what food we're taking etc, also a pairing game which is a bit of a word association thing so I say 'auntie x' and he usually says the corresponding uncle or cousin. Should keep him busy for a bit at least!

What about story tapes and headphones?

Have a look in a bookshop for Mini Treasures which are tiny pocket-sized versions of children's picture books - I have quite a few, which I bought in Waterstones, that I used to take on plane journeys. They were a lifesaver on an 11-hour flight to LA a couple of years ago.
