Has anyone read the Katie Morag books? I have a five year old niece who has just started school (Scotland). I like getting my four nieces a book as part of their Christmas and wondered if this was suitable for a five year old?

Yes definitely, very lovely books

WildGeece · 29/08/2023 22:33

Yes, absolutely! My almost 5 year old loves them.

Yes, we have several of them. Perfect age for them and the illustrations are lovely.

TheUsualChaos · 29/08/2023 22:34

Yes DD had them, they're lovely

FriedasCarLoad · 29/08/2023 22:34

Yes, my almost 5 year old loves them, and I'm happy to read them repeatedly!

saraclara · 29/08/2023 22:36

My DD's and I loved Katie Morag books (over 30 years ago!). There was always something new to find in the illusrations, as well as being lovely stories.

BoleynMemories13 · 29/08/2023 22:45

Yes, I'd say 4-7 is the prime target age group for these books so they'll be great for her now but should still be age appropriate for another couple of years yet.

Perfect choice :-)

Evasmissingletter · 29/08/2023 22:45

Yes lovely illustrations as well

soontobeamama · 29/08/2023 22:46

They are great books to have, I'm sure she will love them!

MhairiLynette · 29/08/2023 23:37

Thank you that’s reassuring. I had them in my own childhood more than 30 years ago but don’t remember them much anymore. The fact that I do remember them at all means I probably enjoyed them too.

I absolutely love those books!

Find memories of these from my childhood, along with Maisie the cat!

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/08/2023 00:08

Wonderful books. Humour for the adult reading to them, too.

I haven’t seen the CeBeeBees series but I should have a look for it as it would be a good way to introduce my niece to Katie Morag.

There are a number of comendium books, with 3 or 4 stories in each, which are good value.
