Books about friendship - preteen

My 12y old boy has asked me to find him some books about friendship - any suggestions? He's recently read the Dr Ranj books "How to Grow Up" and "How to be a boy" and loved both of them but wants something a bit more specifically about friendship. He's struggled a bit socially over the last few years and is finding the world of pre-teen friendship groups particularly tricky. He loves reading fiction and non-fiction so open to both kinds of it will help him through. Thanks

Ah the poor lad. Most of these books are aimed at girls but there are a couple that might be suitable and you could click on them on Amazon and see what others have bought to see if that gives you a better suggestion?

What about Adrian Mole?

Wonder by RJ Palacio might be worthwhile reading.

All the things that could go wrong by Stewart Foster

Really good book told from the point of view of 2 very different boys (one is bullying the other at school) as they spend the summer together

Thank you all. Some interesting suggestions there. I'll try Wonder and All The Things That Could Go Wrong on his Kindle to start him off.

I'd forgotten about Adrian Mole but might see if I can dig that out from my old books.

I am still reading to my kids for some books and it's been really good discussing some thoughts about what's happening in All the things that could go wrong

If he's not likely to want that you could read it too to be ready to chat about it?

Yes, good idea. I'd made sure I read the Dr Ranj books ahead of him so will do that here too. Thanks

Holes isn't specifically about friendship, but a group of boys forced to be together (juvenile camp) thematically it would work and it's a great read!
