World Book Day

Hi guys, I'm new to all this, so bare with me if I get something wrong.
My son is taking part in world book day on 06th March and wants to go as Mr Bump, has anyone got any ideas for a costume!!!!!

Mr Bump is round, isn't he?
May be worth thinking about cutting 2 huge circles of cardboard and painting them as front and back of Mr Bump, then thread through shoulder straps to make a sort of 2d version.
Dd wants Pippi Longstocking and I'm stuck on the hair.

Mr Bump is blue and white with bandages on, I think.

With regards to Pippi Longstocking - how about redish/brown wool plaited and attached to a hair band

Now that's an idea I hadn't thought of. I wonder if I could thread through wire to make them stick out, d'you think a hairband would support that?
Other MNers have so kindly googled and ebayed PLg wigs, but they all look a bit big for dd.....she's a shy type you see.
