Has anyone sold their kids used books recently? Wondering the best way to sell quickly and easily

Just that really. I've just done a declutter of kids books and wondering the best way to sell some or all of them.

Have you tried music magpie?

MaoamAddict · 06/03/2023 07:37

We donated ours to the kids school, they're worth pennies selling them, it's not worth the hassle

I've sold some on eBay before, and folded the money back into buying more. It's only really worth it if you sell a series or similar.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 06/03/2023 18:29

They aren't worth enough to justify the time selling them, so I just bring them to the Sue Ryder shop (where they mostly came from anyway).

What age books? Good condition classics like Elmer or cat in the hat sell well on Facebook market place or series like Diary of a wimpy kid. But you won't get more than a pound a book for good condition books.

Lemonademoney · 06/03/2023 18:34

Not sold but bought some from Facebook Marketplace if that’s helpful?

EveSix · 06/03/2023 18:35

Donate them to a school for a hassle-free transaction; schools are skint.
If you are hoping to raise some funds yourself, don't expect too much, and people expect even second hand books to be pristine.

WinterMusings · 06/03/2023 18:42

Can't you scan them in to a couple if websites like music magpie & CEX (??) to see how much you'd get.

unless they are very expensive books to start with, I doubt you'll get more than pennies, so unless you're seriously short of money I'd just go for the feel good factor of giving them to warmer spaces/womens aid etc or nursery/school if the others are too difficult to locate or get to.

Greydogs123 · 06/03/2023 18:42

I’ve recently sold several series and movie tie-in books on vinted. Only made a couple of quid each time, but more than if I donated them (I do donate stuff, but these were very good condition and I need the money).

FunnyMunny · 06/03/2023 18:45

Which is why you're better off buying kids books second hand on eBay cos'you'll never get even a fraction of your money back.

QuietlyConfident · 06/03/2023 18:47

Music Magpie is really simple - you won't get much cash but it's guaranteed and will only take you a matter of minutes (assuming you don't have to do a big special trip to the post office).

QuietlyConfident · 06/03/2023 18:48

If you've got loads it might be worth doing a NCT nearly new sale?

LSSG · 07/03/2023 04:35

We buy books app if you've got a few. Again, you won't get much, but it's all pretty straightforward

Thismummyrunstheshow · 07/03/2023 04:48

No, I always donate ours to the kids schools or our childminder. No resale value worth it for the hassle with books

KendallRoysRabbit · 07/03/2023 06:22

I use Ziffit or We Buy Books apps. You can just scan the barcode and it will tell you how much they will pay for each book.
