Publishing help

Hi,
I recently lost my mum to cancer (about 7 months ago)
Part of what has been helping me to heal is writing a children's book (think age 3/4).
I would like to get it published however I am no artist and so need it illustrated.
Do I send it to a publishers/agent without illustration and can they provide or do I have to arrange myself?
Completely clueless about it all. But this came from my heart and I would love to see it in print.

Thanks for any help

You'd be better asking in the Creative Writing topic.

Not something I'm an expert in, but if you're hoping for traditional publishing, then if they like it, then they'll arrange the illustrations normally.
If you're going for self-publishing, then you arrange the illustrations.

The publisher will usually pair you with an illustrator. I'd suggest getting hold of a copy of the Children's Writers and Artists Yearbook - tonnes of useful advice and publishing contacts in there. Good luck.

Thankyou both of you. I will get a copy of that and have a look.
I wasn't planning on trying to self-published until I'd at least tried traditional publishing
