My son is going into year 11 and so far he's been a bit of a reluctant reader but acknowledges it will benefit him if he makes the effort to read a bit more. Any recommendations?

Fedegraphica
Lights out, full throttle
Harlen Coben has a young adult series Mickey Bolitar which my teen enjoyed

Not related to his interests but my DS has enjoyed books by Tim Harford of More or less. 50 things which made the modern economy etc. Gives you interesting topics of conversation. Easy to read short chapters. He also reads biographies related to his sports interests - cycling and running. Other suggestions are
Life of Pi, Any Michael Crichton ( Jurassic park etc) Any by Bear Grylls, all the Alex Rider books, Simon Mayo itch books, Any Dave Gorman book.
