Developing 7 year old reader

Hi, can anyone suggest some books for a 7 year old developing reader please? He’s just started ‘InvestiGators’ which is a comic style and seems to be enjoying it, but gets stuck on quite a few words (some are made up).
I’ve also got the ‘solve your own mystery - The Monster Maker’, although this looks a bit wordy. Saw this suggested on here.
just wondering if there’s any other hidden gems people can suggest?

Not necessarily a gem but my boy loved Horrid Henry at that age, easy to read and funny.

Geronimo Stilton was a good series for my DD around that age. Quite easy to read but engaging.
Also the Mr Gum series.

Again not literary masterpieces but my reluctant reader was very engaged by the DogMan series. They are also cartoon / comic book style. We then progressed to captain underpants and diary of a wimpy kid (over the course of a year or so).

Bunny vs monkey. Asterix.

Rabbit and Bear are great, easy reads.
The 13 Storey Treehouse series.
How to Train your Dragon series, my 7 year old is staying up so late reading these!
Beano novels.

Would second the previous recommendations of Dog Man and Bunny vs Monkey. Colourful graphic novels like Investigators. Wish there were more books out there like this.
