Can anyone recommend me a book that's more focused on the STORY of how it happened than exactly which year this and that happened in? I'm interesting in anything about the inventors of the first steam trains and the organisers of the first railway tracks in the Victorian period: George Stephenson, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, that sort of thing. Something which is a fun, dramatic read rather than a simple recitation of facts.
Exact reading level not too important as it's for me to read aloud rather than my son to read to himself at the moment.
