Does anyone ferment this book series?

I was reminiscing today about some books I liked as a child in the 80s. The main character was a girl who had a frenemy best friend - her name might have been Angela? I remember one story about a switch between a nice leather handbag and a red plastic one. And another story where someone made beer which exploded in the airing cupboard!

Does anyone else remember them and what they were called? I'd love to read them again 😄

I do indeed OP - I loved them and recently re-read my old copies. It is the My Best Fiend series by Sheila Lavelle. The leather handbag story was my favourite, closely followed by the Butterfly project. A gentler era…

Ooh I loved these books. There was a hilarious bit with a giant cheeseburger!

Aah I loved my best fiend. I remember going to WHSmith and buying it with birthday money. Did not realise there was a series Grin

I remember the spider in the sandwich scene

My DC loved these aged about 8-9. They have aged well as books!

Thanks all! I'm heading over to amazon. Also thanks for deciphering my title typo 😆

Loved My Best Fiend.

Some of the stories have got mixed up in my mind with the Ramona series though as I read them at similar times.

Yes, I remember those too! She'd spelt "friend" wrongly all through a piece of writing hadn't she, and her dad thought it was very appropriate?
