I have just bought I Capture The Castle by Dodi Smith for a similar aged girl. I set it as summer reading for a class of girls once and they LOVED it. Such a great book.

She’s currently re-reading all the Arthur Ransome books - which are a bit young for her in theory, I suppose, but well written and very gentle and escapist.

Mine really likes the Alice Oseman books, especially the Heartstopper ones. She's currently loving The Song of Achilles
