Iv been searching for a book from my youth for years and Iv exhausted all my avenues aka google and my local library staff.
The story is set in the Deep South of the US and centres around a family of vampires girl 13 older brother and mum.
A local human girl befriendeds them and figures out their secret and it's the winding story of their lives.
They have been reinventing themselves since the 1800s with every generation but obviously never age.
I'm almost certain they had a french name du Bois ? The book had a white cover with a black picture on the front (I think) but that's it. I think I would have read it early 90s.
Any ideas gratefully received.
