Book for 9 year old interested in the origins of the world?

Any recommendations of books for a 9 year old interested in Big Bang, how the world was created, what the earth is composed of? She's also been reading myths and legends and is interested in why people believe(d) them and the different versions of creation, why people believe in religion. She's suddenly started asking deep and technical questions and I'm way out of my depth!!
