My 11 year old absolutely loves these 2 set of books!
I would be grateful for suggestions of similar books.
Thanks very much!

If he likes the dystopian setting of Mortal Engines, then try Sarah Govett's The Territorytrilogy. For more steampunk, then the Cogheart trilogy. Other books my DS enjoyed were The Way Past Winterby Kiran Millwood Hargrave andThe Graveyard Bookby Neil Gaiman.

The Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell.
Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events series.
The Spiderwick Chronicles by Holly Black and Tony Di Terlizzi.
Angie Sage's Septimus Heap series.

A series of Unfortunate events is a great shout.
We have not watched the series on Netflix as we are waiting to read the book first!
