6 year old birthday present

Hi, The daughter of a family friend is turning 6 soon and I would love to buy her a nice book. She can't read English yet so I'm not looking for chapter books but something nice with pictures that can be read to her. Any recommendations?

Alice in Wonderland or Peter Pan by Robert Sabuda

What sort of things does she like? Are you looking for a picture book, or an early chapter book that still has pictures every page? Is it having English words in it important - my kids both love the You Choose series and we have lots of fun talking about what they'd like, but there are very few words in the books.

Go to your local library and see if you can find some picture books that will do.
