Sorry not sure what to call them! DS turns 11 soon and hasn't read a book in ages. He gets bored easily and I just don't think we have the right ones, he chooses a book by how appealing the front cover looks but they're not great stories as such. He has all the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and enjoyed those.

He did mention he likes the books where he can choose which direction certain parts of the story go. Can anyone recommend any that are exciting stories for a 10 year old? Or funny stories at least?

Thanks Smile

Proper name is choose your own adventure I think? Unfortunately I don’t know any particular ones although there are some based on school subjects like Cavern of Clues.

When I was young I loved the famous five ones :o

I’d like to try some for my DS

We have the Choose Your Own Adventure box set with the Abominable Snowman, Journey Under the Sea etc...
My DS has also enjoyed the Choose Your Own Minecraft Story series, Star Wars: Choose Your Destiny, LEGO Star Wars Choose Your Path, the Case Closed series and You Say Which Way

My DS is the same age and has one of the Fighting fantasy books, Assassins of Allansia. He enjoyed that, you use a dice with it. I'd say it was spot on for a 10 year old.

Goosebumps. Not funny but they definitely do choose your own adventure. Loads in our local library

Maths quest; Cavern of clues and mansion of mazes are fun. If your son is quite advanced at maths they might be a little easy.

I've just ordered the book I'm the picture for my 9 year old. (He's also read diary of a wimpy kid). But he hasn't read them yet so can't comment on how good.
