Can anyone recommend a book of ghost stories for a 4.5yo?

Is that a good idea

He loves making up 'scary stories' and asks me to do the same. He's now asked for a book. If it's aimed at his age group then it'll be fine. Obviously not Stephen King Grin

Usborne Books would be worth a look.
This is a link that came up - an early reader title. Think it’s an older one.

They also do great spooky activity and sticker books (Halloween-themed too), and some titles are featured on YouTube. This article might interest, if you are making up your own. Sounds like your DS is an imaginative storyteller. Grin

The Jolley-Rogers and the Ghostly Galleon
It’s Too Frightening For Me by Shirley Hughes
Spooky Night by Wendy Finney

You could also try reading the Skeleton Keys series by Guy Bass and Night of the Living Ted, although might be better if a couple of years time.

Thanks!

He always ends his story with "and they were never seen again" in a scary voice Grin

He might like ‘A Dark, Dark Tale’ by Ruth Brown.
Reception class children loved it.
There’s a good reading on YouTube with suitably scary music!

Perhaps a bit young for him, but Funny Bones.
