What to read after Great Reindeer Rescue? (Kate Saunders)

DS (Y3, 7) has been an incredibly reluctant reader. He has suddenly clicked with the two Yule-1 books by Kate Saunders and even stayed up to try to read a chapter himself. So I am desperately looking for any fiction books of a similar simplicity to read but which feel exciting and grown up and have a compelling enough story (and some picture to break up text ideally).
I think that I have bought, and he has rejected/asked me to read to him, most obvious series but I would be very grateful for any ideas. I would love him to love books and this really is the first that is the Goldilocks combo of engaging story and easy enough to read. Thank you!

Brilliant! Thank you, I will get ordering. I didn’t think he would ever want to read anything ever!

Jinks and O’Hare went down really well. Next is Pugs of the Frozen North. Someone smarter than me bought him Dog Man which he is also reading so I am now hunting graphic novels too, but just so glad that he is opting to read anything. Thanks again for the suggestions, I bought them all and it is so nice to have a TBR pile for him!
