Chaos Walking trilogy

I’m just looking for something for DS, 13, and came across this trilogy (The Knife of Never Letting Go, The Ask and the Answer, and Monsters of Men) by Patrick Ness, never heard of him or the books but apparently they’ve been successful/popular.

Does anyone know these books? And would you recommend them for a 13yo?

Very good. Will be ok for 13 year old if they're used to dystopian fiction but there is violence and there are sexual themes

So it depends on whether they are a young 13 or a mature 13 IMO.
