What age is the Shardlake series suitable for?

Just wondering what my DS should read after Lord of the Rings

Revelation (book 3) is about a biblically inspired serial killer, and that's the only one I remember being particularly twisted. They are not really child-friendly but books 1 and 2 would be fine for about 13 y-o mature reader I think.

If your DS hasn't yet read the Chaos Walking trilogy (Patrick Ness), I'd recommend that heartily for 13 up. It's fab!

Thanks for the replies. Will avoid for a good few years as he gets hooked on a series and I don't want to go down the serial killer route quite yet! Will defo try the other set. Thanks for the recommendation.
