Early reader books

What early reading series would you recommend please? I'm looking for a series with a simple sentence for the child, then a more complex sentence for the adult to read.

What level is the child reading at? DC1 loves that sort of reader so we have a few:

• Usborne very first reading books ,www.books4people.co.uk/products/usborne-very-first-reading-16bks?variant=31622561857651¤cy=GBP&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google+shopping&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIx7T9vMiM7AIVwp13Ch1kdAjYEAQYAiABEgLoG_D_BwE they start right at the easiest level of sounding out and progress and are phonics based. They have words for the adult up to about 3/4 the way up the series.
• Usborne Farmyard tales, very first experiences, book of fairytales and book of princess stories all by Heather Amery. These are more difficult, probably blue book band level but great for reading with a tired child. Despite the title and the pink cover the princess stories are actually not stereotypical princess stories and DS likes them.
• The Puddle Lane series published in the 80s and available 2nd on eBay. These were look and say based so need quite a bit of phonics language but are lovely stories.
