DD 5th birthday approaching and she likes the rescue rider series on Netflix which is derived from the how to train your dragon series.

I’ve not read the book, unsurprisingly I suppose, so I’m not sure what level it is. I know to read to yourself ifs pitched at 9 year olds.

Do you think this is too old to read aloud at bed time? She lives stories and enjoys me reading Matilda and Charlie and chocolate factory etc.

I think it’s perfect to read aloud with her. Very funny, and miles better than the movies. I can’t think of anything that would be inappropriate for her age.

Mind you, I don’t know anything about about the Rescue Rider series, but the HTTYD movies bear no relation to the books whatsoever, so maybe keep that in mind if DD is already familiar with some of the characters. That might confuse her for a moment.

We had it as an audio book in the car when DS2 was 5 and he loved it. I think you'll be fine. But it is quite different to the Netflix series.

Sounds like a winner then! She’s not watched or heard of HTTYD and not watched the series. Just the rescue riders so she wouldn’t know they are connected.
Thank you.
