Poetry book recommendation

We have a decent collection of children's books but no poetry books at all. My teenage son wants to take GCSE English Literature and my daughter is a book worm, so I'm thinking of buying some good poetry books to add to the rest of our book collection. Do you have any good recommendations for kids of all ages please?

The Poetry for Young People series is great, with nice illustrations.

The poems by Conrad Burdekin. They're for primary school age children

Nations favourite children’s poems is excellent. The audio book is fantastic too.

For GCSE/A level you want a good anthology with critical notes, like the Norton Anthology of Poetry:

Look at some of the Simon Armitage collections. Zoom used to be on the GCSE curriculum. Even without that tho he's a very engaging poet

Brilliant, thanks for the suggestions, they sound great. I'll get browsing!

Get them writing too - how about How to Grow Your Own Poem, by Kate Clanchy

Nice idea to get them writing too, thanks @BlueChampagne
