What do you 10 yr old boys read?

I have to write a children's story for a ten year old boy. Can anyone tell me what they love to read? I know it's a very broad question as each child is different.

I had in my mind something similar to David Walliams but it that slightly too young by that age?

Many thanks.

I’ve always struggled to get my 10 year old to read much fiction, but he is really enjoying the David Baddiel books at the moment (Head Kid, The Parent Agency etc).

My kid love to read books and for him I always purchase books from Ritecoupons.com. Last week I purchased Sweep, Roller Girl and Odd And The Frost Giants for him. This store have huge collections of books at discounted price.

Mine has just enjoyed one of Terry Deary's novels, he's famous for his Horrible Histories but one of his novels went down v well

My son is older now but horrible histories, goosebumps and Diary of a Wimpy kid were his favourites.

Alex Rider, Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl
He loves Artemis Fowl

He’d grown out of Wimpy Kid and David Walliams by 10.

At 10 DD enjoyed Harry Potter and David Walliams too. DS is slightly younger but is obsessed with Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl. He absolutely loved Flaminals by Ricky Gervais. The main thing I would advise is not to write “for a boy” because it’ll be tempting to go down a stereotypical “what should boys like?”. I’d just write a decent story than any child would enjoy.

My son reads all sorts eg Davis Walliams, Wimpy Kid, Beast Quest, Tom Gates. He has recently been reading The Warrior Cats Books and The Spartapuss Books
