And would consequently recommend to your teen?
I have a dd and ds so any recommendations welcome.

For my daughter I let her read a wonderful book I read called New Patches for old (by C. Mattingley) she read it about 10 times.

Of course she's read a lot of modern lit but I'd like to personally recommend to both, I just can't remember what I was reading back in the 80s!

Thank you

Witch Child and Sorceress by Celia Rees. I also loved Naughts and Crosses - can’t believe I’ve had to wait until now, 15 years later, for it to be a tv show. Well overdue.

The Secret History -Donna Tartt

The Rachel Papers - Martin Amis

Because I love historical fiction, anything by Mary Renault. I have "The King Must Die" lined up for nearly teen DS1.

Momo by Micheal Ende
When Hitler stole Pink Rabbit
Jayne Eyre
Lots of books by Jean sure ( but some of these have dated badly)
