DD is really enjoying the Goth Girl books and they are stuffed with references to writers, artists, celebrity chefs and all sorts. We've just finished Goth Girl and the Fete Worse Than death. I think I get most of the references m(though it's hard to know what you miss). Any ideas if the Grocers of the Night (Didier Dangle, Gerard Dopplemouse or Madame Grand Gousier) are references to anyone? I wasnt sure if Gerard Dopplemousse was Gerard Depardieu.
There are some paintings - one is the girl with the pearl earring, any ideas on the rest on the same page?
Any other references I might have missed?
