Chapter Books for 4 year old

JustMarriedBecca · 01/07/2019 07:41

My 4 year old has been enjoying Chapter Books at bedtime. We've done all the Enchanted Wood series, Wishing Chair series and some of the non 'dark' Dahl's like Matilda, Magic Finger, Charlie etc. and Fantastic Mr Fox. We've done the Jolley Roger series too.

Any other suggestions? Enchanted Wood was by far the most popular. Despite my attempts at gender neutrality we are firmly in camp Unicorn / mermaids, fairies and magic. Maybe because it's a more age appropriate topic rather than loss / poverty etc. than in some of the older Dahl's etc.

All suggestions welcome.

All the Jill Tomlinson animal ones - Plop the owl, the aardvark, the cat who wanted to go home - they’re great.
