Book where the children go camping and have adventures that isn’t Enid Blyton?

A friend thinks that there are some more recent books where the children have adventures and go camping ... but all I can think of are the Enid Blyton series. If you know the books he’s thinking of, please could you let me know?

Thank you.

Well, there's Swallows and Amazons - not 'recent' but an excellent series, and strong female role models too.

Lone Pine Series by Malcolm Saville. Out of print, but ebay/amazon have plenty or you could look at TopsyTurvy Books

Monica Edwards: The Midnight Horse (other ones are good, but no camping)

Fell Farm Campers (again out of print, but you can find on ebay)

None of these are recent, but ds has loved all these.
