Books set in Italy?

We're planning to go to Italy this year and was planning to get the kids some books set in Italy (preferably Rome) to getthem in the mood. But apart from Roman myths, Pinocchio and some of the Asterix books I can't think of any! Anyone got any suggestions? Kids will be 7, 10 and 12.

The Roman Mysteries series by Caroline Lawrence. Not modern day, but not myths either.

Oh, they look good, think the older two will enjoy those!

I volunteer in a primary school library, and they are very popular with the Years 5 and 6. Suitable for a 12 year old too, I think. And there are about twenty in the series, so plenty to keep them going!
