Intro to music

I'm looking for a book which would introduce DD (9) to the world of music: composers, instruments etc... Any ideas welcome! Thank you!

I remember the DK Eyewitness Music book being a good starting point...not sure if it’s still in print, but it seems to be available second hand via Amazon. There is a newer (2013) DK Book, Music - the Definitive Visual History on Amazon too, I’ve not seen it before, bur looks quite good. It’s a much heftier book, so may be a good follow-up if a basic intro does spark the interest you’re hoping for...
