Modern Children’s ‘walkman’ equivalent!!

Ok so I realise this makes me look like a total Luddite, but what do kids listen to today (with headphones) on long car journeys?

My DD is 3.5 and I want to buy her headphones and a ???? To listen to stories on. I don’t really want her to use our iPad or phone, is there a kid friendly, easy to use device that we can play either story MP3s or CDs on? I kind of want an old style kids Walkman... but obv this is now extinct

Could you not get a cheap refurbished iPod? You can pick them up 2nd hand for next to nothing and fill it with her horrendous lovely music

I’m surprised there aren’t more of these children’s MP3 models around which are super simple to use. Bit of a gap in the market? Must say, the games included on that MP3 model put me off. We really just want something she can listen to stories and music on.

Not sure wether this plays both cds and mp3 or if it's just an mp3 player but it looks like it would fit the bill
