Jonathan Stroud’s Lockwood & Co series, also his Bartemaus (sp?) series - hilarious!
I bet he’d enjoy Ben Aaronovich’s Rivers pf London as well. They are technically adult books, but I’d give them to a teenager. Very funny and bursting with fascinating trivia about London ( no, honestly, they are really funny!)
