Lighthouse keeper’s lunch series

We have the lighthouse keeper’s lunch book and love it! We have a book token to spend and thought we’d go for another in the series. Does anyone have any recommendations for another keeper?

To be honest, though DS enjoyed them, the first one was the best by far, and the later ones seemed a bit derivative. Sets of the whole lot seem to crop up with The Book People etc. from time to time.

If you want some beautiful books with a seaside setting, you might like ‘Sam, Bangs & Moonshine’, ‘The Little Red Lighthouse’ and ‘The Mousehole Cat’ - though I get teary reading all of these.

Thank you, I was worried that might be the case! I’ve reserved a couple of others from the library to try them out. Thanks for the other suggestions too!

I haven't tried them but thought they might have issues stretching the theme that far. As urbanesprawl says the Mousehole cat has a similar feel and might be a good alternative - it makes me cry too though!

Oh, the mouse hole cat is wonderful!

Also, the Tobermory Cat!
