Are these books suitable for a six year old? My daughter is avid reader, she has worked her way through all Roald Dahl, the worst witch and most of the more popular Enid blyton, she hated all those animal/magic early readers.
She’s desperate to start David walliams but I think they are aimed at older children and I’m not sure if the themes are going to be appropriate.

Why not start with one of the worlds worst children books?

Some of his books are good but others are a bit much for me, and I like dark humour. Definitely avoid rat burger

Could you read one to her so that you can judge whether she’s ok with it?

Has she read Goth Girl?

Here are some books very similar in style to the David Williams books which might be slightly more suitable for a 6 year old:

Attack of the Demon Dinnerladies
My Headteacher is a Vampire Rat and anything else by Pamela Butchart including the Wigglesbottom Primary series
The Diary of a Killer Cat
The Great Chocoplot
The Bolds series
Marge series by Isla Fisher
The Grunts series
Anything by Jeremy Strong
